IGN posted some great FFXIV videos. They don't have sound (at least not for me, but you can get a feel of how the game will run. I have to say I'm shocked it's not slightly more animated during the battle sequences, but it's stunningly beautiful.

You can hear some sound on the top one, whether thats just all over or from the video I dont know but sounds nice

the game is looking beautiful now though. hopefully this means we're getting closer to an official release date.

My friend (who happens to be the owner of one of the biggest FFXIV fansites, EVAR) is at GamesCom now, and interviewed Square this morning. I shall try and find the link and/or quote it here. They talk about the beta release and other stuff too.

Just two real quick thoughts I had after watching these. The first wow moment I had with these videos was when I saw just how expressive the characters are now. Before only the Taru really had any great facial expressions. Now looking at all the races they all have amazingly expressive faces and the body animations look great (my favorite was the shadow boxing one). Lastly, in the "Magic & Melee" video...WTF comes out of the ground at the end of the video?
