    Since the world was created there have been random battles, I have particulary found them annoying on the way to work when a tonberry shows up in the street, walking to the drinks machine or even going to the fridge.

    Although they are a great mechanic they have no place in a MMO, but consider this, inside a dungeon your party can be randomly teleported to a plain or sky-platform or something to fight.

    Im not saying the game should use random battles as a mechanic but as a one-off tribute dungeon it could be pretty fun Smile

    I see what your talking about, it would keep the whole party constantly on alert inside that dungeon. May add in a few things, the mobs that you fight up is not always the same one. Maybe some type of rare loot is dropped from that mob. You need to kill this mob at a certain time or you will be teleported back.

    maybe have it as an endurance, one time you get teleported and enemies keep spawning till a preset time runs out.

    What do you mean "keep spawning till a present time runs out"? Elaborate on that.

    "preset" time, like a timer hidden from the players in the background of the game mechanics, not always the same, you have to survive until it runs down to 00:00:00 and you get teleported back to the dungeon.

    It would be interesting how that would work. What if someone went afk when that random encounter thing happened? that wouldnt be too good for them or the party would it?

    If its only for one dungeon then I believe the phrase "Dont go AFK" should suffice Smile

    or perhaps make "safe areas"

    maybe every 2-3 floors of dungeon you reach a smaller "safe floor"

    I like the idea of "not going afk". Makes some idiotic people play the way they should.

    Yes afk of almost any form is completely annoying. But yes the random encounter always ratchets the game up a few notches. Remember when you encountered Weapon for the first time in FFClassic or 3 Red dragons in FFIV? Always spiced it up cherry (Bah thought it was a pepper!)

    Yeah the weapons usually owned me until I beat the game then came back after getting the right gear/items.
