    Easy? Blashempy! Empty Easy? Blashempy!

Post  Mujahed Mon Aug 10, 2009 7:55 am

I been reading on the forums, it seems a few amount of people want FF to take an easier course. I do not mind, but what I would not like if they compelety make the MMO a walk in the park.

I want it to be a challenge from leveling to crafting to PVP. For example, questing; they should give us certain information that would lead us to the area where we should do what the quest required us to do, but not tell us EVERYTHING.

I up for the idea for Solo playing, I understand how annoying it can get when you just want to play solo even for an hour, but if you can level the whole way to the maxim level without joining a group for certain "elite" quests". I will be disappointed.

Maps, FF is by the far the best MMO when it comes to the details of how the MAPS should be. Certain games like Warhammer, that was NO WORLD. If FF decrease the land mass of the MMO, they will be expecting non-stop emails from me.

Transporation, I like the idea of teleporting from one point to another, but then it will completely destroy the concept of traveling. I hope they understand what they are doing.(I understand we have discussed this in another thread, I just wanted to fill in everything)

I do not want an easy MMO, but not an MMO that will want to take over your life. I want a challenge and that is what I hope FF will deliver.

They want a reskinned WoW, they must suffer for their words Smile

Ye I totally agree, I always enjoyed the challenge of FFXI, maybe make crafting easier but not the game in general.

I doubt I will be playing it if it is the same level as WOW, but the creators are Japanese, I think they have different mind set of how MMOs should be.

I agree with Mujahed on this on. I understand going casual will make the game more open to those of us with restricted schedules but casual doesn't have to mean easy or simple.

Maybe there could be a secret dungeon in every town. Not one where you have to be a certain level, but you have to go to certain measures to get to it.

I don't think people want the game to be easy. I just think people want the game to be less of a grind and time sink. This can be accomplished without toning down the difficulty of the encounters we experienced in FFXI.

While I dont want Final Fantasy XIV to be easy as WoW is. I hope they make is possible to get to max level through soloing. What ultimately made me quit final fantasy XI for World of Warcraft was the fact i didnt have to wait several minutes if not hours to get a group just so i can gain a level. Unless you were in a click linkshell or in a perma group it was very hard at times to get a group.

Just for the record. Yiazmat in Final Fantasy 12 had a little over 50 million HP, Hell Wyrm had almost 9 million, and Omega had a little over 1 million (Omega was level 99 though). If you haven't played 12, it's a good game and there are at least 3 really long boss battles.

Omega in FFV had 65,000 health and was near-impossible Smile

increasing defense, immunities + damage is better than boosting health I think.

more health just means its going to take longer, not a challenge, just longer.

It could be a challenge if it requires Alliances to take it down. You just have to be smart. It would be a good idea to put bosses that operated like Yiazmat from FF12 and Sephiroth in the Kingdom Hearts series; whenever you take away a certain amount of life, the fight moves into a new stage where the bosses attacks and immunities change. This puts everyone on their toes and requires a whole new strategy.

haha I loved the Sephiroth fight on KH2, was damn hard though at lv 52 on Proud Mode Razz

Ye stages would be cool, splitting it into technically multiple fights of the same boss.

Well, it depends on the battle system. If it's action based, make lots of Hp and relatively hard to dodge attacks. If it's turnbased, less HP and more focus on defense and immunities.
